At the 2007 DeWildt Cheetah and Wildlife Trust fundraiser evening, we had a very special young guest...
A ten year old boy by the name of Daniel Speciale announced that he had saved up the amount of $250 with the wish of donating it to the cheetahs. He worked hard throughout the year at odd jobs to make money always with the goal in mind of giving it all away to help wildlife conservation efforts.
Daniel got up on stage with Milton Riebeck, Safari West Education Director, and told everyone how much he cares about cheetahs and how he wants to help save them from extinction. When he presented his hard earned money to Vanessa Bouwer of DeWildt, Daniel's big heart and amazing generosity deeply touched Peter Lang, the founder and President of Safari West. Peter joined them on stage and matched Daniel's donation, upping the contribution and tripling the total donation amount! A chain reaction of amazing donations by many, many of our special guests that evening was set off and soon, Daniel's $250 grew to the incredible sum of a few thousand dollars.
Daniel is hard at work on his goal of $350 for this year's event. He is hoping that big-hearted cheetah and wildlife friends will match his donation again. We are very excited about this generous young cheetah conservationist and his goals. We hope that you may want to help Daniel grow this seed of support into a sheltering money-tree to help the cheetahs and other wildlife at DeWildt.
