After more than 35 years as a privately operated wildlife preserve, Safari West is entering its next chapter. As we move forward, our founders are guiding the organization toward nonprofit stewardship through the newly formed Safari West Zoological Society.
This evolution strengthens our long-standing commitment to animal care, conservation, research, and education — while preserving the immersive safari experiences you know and love.
What This Means for Our Guests
As we move into this next chapter:
- Safari West continues operating as it has for decades.
- We will continue welcoming guests and conducting business under the name Safari West.
- Safari tours and overnight stays continue as scheduled.
- Our dedicated team remains in place.
- The animals remain at the heart of everything we do.
This is about long-term sustainability and stewardship — not changing the Safari West experience.
Introducing the Safari West Zoological Society
The Safari West Zoological Society is a California nonprofit public benefit corporation formed to steward Safari West’s mission of Research, Education, and Conservation (REC), with animal care at its core.
Moving forward, the Society will support and strengthen Safari West’s long-term public benefit and wildlife conservation efforts.
