About the Speaker:
Kate Fox is a graduate student at Sonoma State. She has had a strong passion for all living things her entire life. A curiosity in vertebrates has driven her to assist in research efforts regarding California Tiger Salamanders (Ambystoma californiense), California Red Legged Frogs (Rana draytonii), captive Southern White Rhinos (Ceratotherium simum simum), and captive Giraffes (Giraffa camelopardalis).
She is also the conservation liaison and an animal caretaker at Safari West. In her conservation role, she’s been working towards making Safari West’s wild space more compatible with the native wildlife. Bird boxes, cover boards, and more are all in place on property. She is excited to share the work that Safari West does for the native species and how you can get involved.
