An Evening Around the Fire
After a day of exploring the Sonoma Serengeti and dinner at the Savannah Café, you might find yourself feeling a bit sleepy. The evening cools and daylight fades to dusk while guineafowl flutter to their roosts and the stars come out overhead. If you’re lucky, the kids might be winding down too. But sometimes all that excitement—the giraffes and cheetahs, the birds and buffalo—is too much. Sometimes you need a little something extra to soothe those savage beasties.
Luckily, there’s Safari West Campfire Chats! Stay with us on a Sunday night, and experience the perfect way to settle down for a night in the wild. After dinner, join our very own Alex Coburn as he hosts an hour of creativity, craftsmanship, and classic campfire story-time.
Campfire Crafts
At recent Campfire Chats, Alex has led his audience in the creation of animal-inspired necklaces. These hand-crafted medallions motivate their makers to think about the animals they’ve spent the day with and the special abilities that help them survive and thrive in the wild. As an added bonus, they’re made entirely of upcycled materials found around the Safari West Wildlife Preserve and so make a sustainable and memorable keepsake of your family’s adventure.
As the evening progresses, Alex shares amazing folktales and legends from around Africa. Many of these tales focus on Safari West animals wandering just beyond the firelight. What better way to end a day of exploration and discovery?
Taking place every Sunday from 8-9pm, Campfire Chats are open to all dinner and overnight guests. Book your reservation at Safari West and we’ll see you around the campfire!
